Here at the Barista District, I work hard to support educators, authors, and business owners with content creation. Whether you need a ghostwriter, an editor, or a curriculum designer, I can help you achieve your goals.
Being a writer is often a solitary existence. Just you and your computer—or notebook if you’re old school—turning the ideas in your head into words on a page. As you get ready to share your writing with the world, going solo becomes a bigger challenge.
How can you be sure you didn’t overlook a typo? Is your main character just a bit too cliché? Does your plot progression make sense? Will your story resonate with readers? How will they respond?
Whether you’re in early stages of the writing process or your finished book is about to hit shelves, I’m here to support you. Select from the packages below to learn more about the author support services that can help you on your way to success.
If you have the beginnings of a rough draft and want to make sure you're on the right track, this service is for you. In a Pour Over Manuscript Evaluation, I'll read up to the first 50 pages of your manuscript, including the first chapter. You'll receive feedback about any issues that stand out.

You can choose between copyediting, proofreading, or both depending on what service best fits your needs. You'll receive an annotated copy of your manuscript with comments and suggestions for stylistic and/or grammatical and mechanical changes.

Percolated Editing focuses on the substance of your manuscript and how you use language to engage your readers. Substantive line editing looks at the clarity and flow of your text starting with the sentence and paragraph levels and gradually encompassing each chapter and the book as a whole.
In Percolated Substantive Line Editing, I restructure content as needed to improve the overall sense and impact of your text. I may change sentences or paragraphs, or I might alter larger sections or entire chapters. I could also delete content.
You'll receive an electronic draft of your edited manuscript using a "tracked changes" tool so you can see where text has been altered or redacted.
Price: $125 for the first 10 pages + $2.50 per additional page
If you have a manuscript that's nearly ready for publication, and you want to know how readers will react, this service is for you. I'll do a casual yet focused read of your book, then respond using a reader's questionaire to organize my thoughts.
You'll receive a copy of the reader's questionaire and a note with general feedback about your book.
If your book is off the presses and about to hit shelves in bookstores or online, an Early Review can help generate pubicity for your new title. I'll read your book and write a general review with my reader reaction and opinion of the text.
You'll receive a copy of the review for your website, and I'll post it on the web platform of your choice, like Amazon or Goodreads.
